A place name Malubang

*This post contains lots of pictures

Have you ever heard of a place name Malubang before? The name was totally sounds alien to me when my cousin invited us to join them for a family trip to that place last Friday. Later I found out that Malubang is actually one of the villages located in Pitas District and very popular with the story of Kapal Nakhoda Supirak and the Telaga Air Tawar among the local peoples. With the very bad road condition, it’s took about 3-4hours for us to get to the place. But if you driving a 4WD, you can make it short to 2-3 hours or even less! Depends on how fast you are driving.

Okay now lets continue with the pictures!

A peaceful evening in Malubang. The weather is so perfect and it’s a time for kids to have some walks on the beach.

Activity that kids have been patiently waiting for, swimming time! But they don’t exactly do the swimming anyway. They just berendam.

We were on our way to find the Telaga Air Tawar when a beautiful rainbow appears in the sky.

Look carefully. What image can you see? Me, a baby Elephant!

A stone which is resembled to a ship that local peoples believed belonged to Nakhoda supirak but then turned into stone after being cursed by his mother. The story of Kapal Nakhoda Supirak has the similarity with the story of Nakhoda Tanggang, a famous story among our community. Sorry for the small image.

Finally we found it! The Telaga Air tawar – Below is one of the three wells that can be found in the sea of Malubang and the water remains tasteless even though the area are being covered by water whenever high tide. Locals believed that the water of the wells has medicine power. Yes, it’s tasteless! I’ve tried myself.

Mangga Epal

Assalamualaikum....

Pernah makan buah mangga epal? mesti pernah kan.....hari tu dapat dua biji mangga epal dari kawan....napa ianya digelar mangga epal mungkin sebab rupa bentuk dan warnanya yang seakan-akan buah epal....kalau masa budak2 dulu selalu makan mangga ni masa buah dia masih muda lagi...sedap rangup dan ada rasa masam sedikit.....cuma yang payahnya getahnya tu...lepas makan mesti rasa gatal2 dibibir dan lidah...huhu

Kawan saya yang bagi ni orang chinese....dia ada pesan kalau makan buah ni jangan makan dengan sambal belacan...kalau makan juga, nanti buah pada musim akan datang mesti berulat dan tak cantik....betul ke tu sebab saya baru pertama kali dengar pantang macam ni.....

Rupa buah mangga epal tu.....yang kecik dah masak, yang besar tu masih nak kena peram lagi....

buah yang telah dipotong (sila abaikan potongan yang tidak kemas tu...hehe)....rasa dia memang manis dan sedap (^_^)

Trip to Miri

2 minggu selepas trip ke Bandung, saya “berjalan “ lagi. Kali ini saya terbang ke Miri for 3D2N trip with my Partner in Crime. The main purpose for this trip is to exploring the Niah Cave .

Perjalanan dengan Airasia dari KLIA Terminal 2 ke Miri Airport mengambil masa lebih kurang 30 minit. After done with Immigration thing, we took a taxi to Park Hotel which I booked a room for 2 nights a week earlier. But when we get there, the lady at the Reception counter informed us that no room is available until 2.30pm. Aiyo, punya teruk! Standard hotel punya check out time is 12.00 noon bah, lewat-lewat pun 1.00pm, kenapa bilik hanya available jam 2.30pm?

Anyway, malas mau argue and since I haven’t made any payments, my friend and I decide to look for another hotel. About 30-40 minutes later we checked in into the Palace Inn Miri.

Explored the Niah Cave.

We did explored the Niah cave on our first day! It was a great changed on our trip’s Itinerary. Plan asal, akan ke Gua Niah pada hari kedua. Perjalanan dari Bandar Miri ke Taman Negara Niah adalah lebih kurang 1 jam dan 40 minit dengan Teksi. Kosnya pula ialah RM 200.00 pergi dan balik.

Need to walks through this trail for about 45 minutes – 1 hour in order to get into the cave.

The cave was amazing, yes! but I was scared most of the time. Biasalah penakut! Macam rasa ada hantu ni. Hehehe. I took many pictures inside the cave using my Samsung Tab actually but I still have not uploaded them into my Picasa. Some pictures that I posted here are the same as I posted on my FB.

I pretends hard to look as local as possible but failed when I saw this fruits – Dabai. Nampak dan merasa buah ini pertama kali di Miri. Terus keluar itu jakun oh. .

I enjoyed the trip as much i enjoyed my partner throughout the trip.

Little tips: Those who want to visit Miri and plan to exploring Niah Cave, don’t forget to bring flash light, a hat and the most important is drinking water. You can rent flash light at the Taman Negara Niah office for RM5.00 (if i am not mistaken). Drinking water also available at the Taman’s Canteen but for sure the price must be more expensive than usual. As for us, we bought flash light, hats and drinking water at Miri town before the journey.

Our cost to the Niah Cave by Taxi + drinking water + entrance ticket fee (for to person) – RM200.00 + RM5.00 + RM20.00 = RM225 which is I found out a bit expensive later. Why? because you can get a tour package to Niah Cave for 2 person for only RM180 (including transportation, simple lunch, drinking water, guide and entrance ticket fee) and the package brochures are being placed at the Palace Inn front office counter. Too bad that I only noticed the brochures during checked out time.

Perasan ke, tinggal 2 minggu lagi kita akan meninggalkan tahun 2012....azam2 yang ditanam untuk tahun ni suda tercapai ke? saya??? ada yang belum ada yang suda.....yang belum boleh tunda ke tahun depan...hehe...

Salah satu azam, tahun ni mo kurangkan lelemaks tapi tak tahu suda capai ke ni belum....rasa2 tak tercapailah tahun ni, tengo je breakfast hari ni... hehehe

Hujung minggu saya cam biasa saja...bangun pagi, buatkan sarapan untuk hubby dan anak2...Shumi request nak makan jemput2...jemput2 versi saya yang paling simple, tepung gandum diuli dengan sedikit garam dan air secukupnya....kemudian bentukkannya bulat2 guna sudu dan goreng.....makan masa ianya masih panas-panas cicah dengan sos cili. Terbaik!!!! itu yang hubby dan anak2 cakap, sampai pic pun tak sempat snap sebab sekejap je licin...

Mo blogwalking, malas pula mo on laptop......duduk sekejap ja mata dah mula mengantuk....rasa nak tidur saja, padahal baru saja bangun.....mungkin minda dah set, hujung minggu adalah hari untuk bermalasan setelah penat bekerja selama 5 hari....nak keluar berjalan2 pun kaki berat ja....malaslah tu.....nasib baik anak2 tak request berjalan2 keluar....dorang lebih suka menghadap tv menonton rancangan kartun dari pagi ke petang....paham2 ja lah hujung2 minggu kan banyak rancangan kartun disiarkan....lebih2 lagi sapa2 yang ambik pakej disney di Astro tu.....24 jam rancangan kartun....

Actually hari ni ada majlis reunion bekas pelajar UMS sesi 1999/2002.......memang teringin nak pegi tapi disebabkan anak2 tiada orang jaga terpaksa batalkan sajalah.....acara dari pagi hingga ke makan malam......memang best jumpa kawan2 lama ni tapi apa boleh buat kan......takpe minggu depan ada reunion dengan course mate masa belajar dulu......tiap tahun kami buat, memang best jumpa dengan geng2 keras ni......

Putatan flood mitigation is SAPP government priority

PUTATAN, December 11, 2012: Speaking at the "Bangunlah Untuk Sabah" meet-the-people session at Taman Bersatu here in Putatan, Datuk Richard Yong said SAPP will place solving the flood problem in Putatan as a top priority. There is obviously no proper drainage management where you see drains were filled with overgrown vegetation and blockage by rubbish causes flood each time there is a heavy down pour. Even newly constructed drains at Putatan town were not serving its purpose due to blockage by gravel, sand and rubbish.







A resident there submitted his complaint to SAPP saying that they are tired of complaining to the authority because the authority seems to have turned a blind eye to the problem and not performing their duties in clearing drains, cutting of grass and regular collection of garbage.



Datuk Richard Yong who is also the chairman of SAPP Tanjung Aru CLC said once SAPP formed the next government will place some of these basic problems as top priorities. Richard cited the Likas flood mitigation flood gate as a perfect example which help solved flooding problem in the area. The flood gate was constructed more than 20 years ago when Datuk Yong Teck Lee was Likas Assemblyman. There is no reason why the same could not be done for the Putatan and Petagas area. Unfortunately the people's representatives have been providing only lips service. It is totally unfair for the long-serving YBs leaving the people to suffer and endure all these years over some basic problems.







Richard said, "The other priority would be the provision of affordable housings to resolve the squatter problems in the area. The BN government had allowed the squatter houses to mushroom without check. This leads to serious social and security problems in the area. The squatters also heightened the garbage and cleanliness problems.







Richard exclaimed that the people have lost their hope and patience on the present government and it is time to rise and "Bangunlah Untuk Sabah" for autonomy and for better future. The crowd responded with "Ini Kalilah!"







SAPP President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee in his speech called for the unity of Sabah people because in order to topple BN government, we need solidarity and unity of the people.







SAPP's leaders had given up government positions to be with the people to strive for change which could only happen when Sabah wins more autonomy to manage its land and resources.

I watched a new movie – Istanbul Aku Datang through Astro First last two weeks. The last movie in 2012 for me I can say.  It was my sister’s idea to buy that movie. Mungkin terlampau keboringan tidak tengok apa – apa, saya mengikut saja tengok.

I am not going to give a review of this movie, tapi cukuplah saya katakan yang saya puas hati menonton filem ini. It’s wroth your penny!

Oh ada pengajaran yang jelas dalam filem ini iaitu tentang menghargai peluang yang ada dalam hidup kita. People always says that everyone deserved to get a second chance, tapi ada masanya tidak begitu. Kadang-kadang peluang hanya datang sekali, walau dirayu dengan air mata pun peluang kedua tidak bukan milik kita. So sentiasa menghargai setiap apa yang kita miliki, jika kita tidak menghargainya mungkin ada orang lain yang akan menghargainya.
